Devon and Bonny were one of my favourite couples this summer. Their wedding sunny July wedding was SO fun. I’ve known both of them for years, growing up in similar church circles and going to the same summer camp. I am so grateful that I got to spend the day with them and their awesome bridal party!! Seriously, one of the best bridal parties I have ever gotten to spend the day with. It helps that I knew every single one of them, but still. I drove up on Friday night and we did last minute wedding prep until the wee hours of the morning. Bonny was so relaxed and thoughtful the whole time. Which isn’t unusual. She is one of the kindest people I have ever met, always making sure that everyone is comfortable and letting them know how appreciated they are with little words here and there. She is also hilarious. Devon two. They are this witty and clever and funny and caring couple and together, together they are unstoppable.

Watching Bonny get into her dress was probably one of my favourite parts of the day. Surrounded by her mama, sisters, cousins and best friend, she slipped into her stunning dress and looked like the most beautiful princess. She could not stop smiling and giggling as the anticipation grew for her “once upon a dream.”

After a receiving line and family photos, we headed off to the beach to do bridal party photos and portraits of the new mr. and mrs. While I love shooting in our Pacific Northwest forests down here on the coast, it was such a treat to shoot in the Okanagan sunshine. The lake was perfect and the mountains made for a stunning backdrop. I also loved the colours that Bonny chose for her bridal party. Added the perfect touch to the photos.

Devon and Bonny, thank you so much for inviting me out to the Salmon Arm to photograph your wedding. It was such a great time and I loved every minute of it.
