Langley Wedding Photographer // Jesse + Amanda

“From time to time, when a piece of music no one has ever written or a painting no one has ever painted, or something else impossible to predict, fathom or yet describe takes place, like falling in love, a new feeling enters the world. And then, for the millionth time in the history of feeling, the heart surges and absorbs the impact.”

She is independent, out-going, funny and, well, a country girl. She is smart and driven. She doesn’t like being surprised and loves to plan and organize – making this classy farm wedding the perfect day. Amanda is not easily overwhelmed and she is not the type of women to be frazzled easily. Bur she is welcoming. She makes an effort to make sure every one has a place. She is thoughtful and gracious.

If Amanda is a bold, go-getter then Jesse is gentle, strong, and steady. He is attentive and funny and he cares deeply about the people in his life. As cliche as it sounds, he is the perfect fit for Amanda. They compliment each other so well and with such ease. They are both two independent people but the glances and hand-brushes throughout the day showed just how much they like each other and being together.

“Sometimes it doesn’t occur to boys that their mother was ever young and pretty. I could stand it if you boys were inconsiderate, or thought of her as if she were just somebody who looked after you. You see I was very much in love with your mother, and I know there’s nobody like her…” – Willa Cather, My Ántonia

I love that Jesse + Amanda did not shy away from emotion. They invest and feel deeply. They ceremony was filled with tears and smiles from them and their family and friends. Jesse and Amanda both cried as soon as Amanda appeared. As his bride came closer and closer to being his wife “today and everyday,” the tears flowed freely. She is his beloved, the one whom his soul loves.

These people are so loved. There reception only went to show that further. Almost every single speech had tears, from the speaker and from Jesse, Amanda, and their friends + family. There was also so much laughter. Not polite laughter but deep-belly laughter. There was good food and lots of time to chat and relax. All of the details that Amanda and her girls has spent hours and hours on came together perfectly.

“They never stop to think ‘what’s in it for me?’ or ‘it’s way too far.’ They just show on up, with their big old hearts. You find out who your friends are.”
– Tim McGraw

Their first dance was sweet. They only had eyes for each other.

“I don’t dance, but here I stand. Spinning you ’round and ’round in circles”

And then the party continued with the sweetest father daughter dance (where all the dads and daughters joined in) and lots of good old-fashioned line + square dancing. Wouldn’t be a true country wedding without it.

Jesse and Amanda, thank you for having me. Your wedding day was stunning and I loved being a part of it.
Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon in the Bahamas!

HUGE thanks to Meghan Bustard for second shooting. I was getting over a nasty cold on this beautiful day and I wouldn’t have been able to go for twelve hours without her. Thank you!!!
